Silent creatures moved through out the forest. The slightest hint of them being there was a slight scent and even a minuet sound of crunching snow. Kimi's blue eyes scanned as far as they could see in either direction of the forest. Her stomach growled ever so slightly and she realized she would need to hunt soon if she planned to survive. But in the winter hunting was so much harder than typical. The fresh snow wasn't compacted yet and her tracks would be easy to find. Her nose twitched as she picked up the scent of wolves but they where thousand of miles away. Once again the she-cat took in a deep breath a new scent tickled on her senses. Deer. The only creature that she knew how to hunt and if it wasn't for the wolves, every creature here would be dead. Well except for the polar bear because they hunt seals near the icy tundras.
Silently she rose from the boulder she was perched on and looked around once more. The gentle hearted creature was just yards away. Unresitable. Kimi would be lucky if she catched the pure blooded white deer that God himself had given the animals. Though she still didn't understand why he trapped them on a frozen waste land. She had only heard stories from her mother about how terrible the humans were to the Earth. But what was the point in making the good hearted people suffer? Annoyed at the thought Kimi flicked her tail once before carefully moving her paws along the snow covered ground. She flinched at the sound of the snow caving in under her weight.
Thats when she let her blue gaze drift back to the warm blooded deer that would keep her fed for a few days at the least. It was bounding away. In a fit of rage Kimi broke into a run after the light footed deer hoping to slow it down with a swipe. She cracked a hopeful smile as the deer stumbled and thats when Kimi made the final move. Her claws sank into the creatures shoulders as she locked her powerful jaws around its neck. For minutes the helpless deer struggled before going limp. With thankful blue eyes, Kimi looked to the sky and mumbled a quick thanks to her mother. Then with a smooth paw she moved fresh, white snow over the blood stained path before carrying her meal back towards her den.

Rikea had followed the huntress, quietly, smoothly, swiftly. She watched as her swift movements lead to her deer's capture. She followed even as the huntress dragged her meal away. She was hungry as well and wondered if this meal could be shared by the tiger. She sniffed out her den and began to pace. She let out a long, drawn out howl. Rikea hoped the she-cat heard the call and would come out of her den. She waited, and waited. Her mouth watering at the forest smells radiating from the den. She stuck her nose into it and inhaled the sweet scent of the deer's body. She could feel it's warmth and almost taste it's meat. She growled, low and rasping...
